Dog Treats...safe for dog and celiac family members

2/12/2023

For those dogs that may have allergies to the fillers in the dog treats (like one of our Golden Doodles) AND for those family members who have Celiac disease and need to be careful of what the dogs eat because of the love they show when licking the skin!

I like to do a large batch, freeze them so that I don’t have to make this every week! Our pups LOVE them straight from the freezer. They come running when they =hear the freezer drawer open and sit patiently waiting… hoping that they can have a healthy treat!

Cooked Quinoa according to directions, allow to cool
6 cups of cooked quinoa ( I have been using the tri-color quinoa but any will do)
1 TBS molasses
3 large eggs
1/2 cup sorghum flour
½ cup potato starch

Measure out using 1/8 cup and flatten a little.

Bake in 350° oven for 25-30 minutes

Allow to cool thoroughly, place in a freezer bag, mark the bag with the date and “DOG TREATS”. BUT to be completely honest…they are delicious and good enough for doggie parents too

*Note: flours that are OK for dogs: potato starch, amaranth, sorghum, quinoa, (oats and rice) BUT NOT all are good for us because our 1 year old golden doodle, Finn,  has a TON of food allergies.
